Employers who use background checks as a part of their screening process are required to comply with certain legal requirements under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Included in this package is the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's standardized summary of consumer rights notice titled, “A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act", which employers must use to comply with the FCRA requirements. Additionally, this package includes General Requirements for Background Checks and the supporting documents such as the pre-adverse action letter, adverse action letter, consumer authorization form, consumer notification form, and credit notification form.
